Legalisation Process

How Legalisation Works

Legalisation verifies that your document has been properly notarised and can be accepted abroad. We manage every step for you from notarisation to obtaining an Apostille from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), and, if required, embassy legalisation.

Step 1

Send your documents

Email your document together with a short note explaining the country where it will be used and any instructions you received. You will receive clear guidance on what is required and a fee estimate.

Step 2

Book an appointment

Appointments are required. You can meet at the notary office or request a mobile visit by arrangement. Before the meeting, you will be told what to bring, such as ID, proof of address and the original documents.

Step 3

Signing and notarisation

At the appointment, your identity is verified, and the document is reviewed. You must sign in the presence of the notary. The notary prepares the notarial certificate, applies the official seal and completes the required records.

Step 4

Apostille or consular steps

If the destination country requires an apostille or embassy legalisation, you will receive precise instructions on the correct route. If preferred, the apostille or consular legalisation can be arranged on your behalf.
